Open-world dress up role-playing game Infinity Nikki’s official website was temporarily hacked to show the players visiting the site an offensive message and reference to Genshin Impact.
Infinity Nikki was a long-awaited game that launched two days ago, December 5, for PlayStation 5, PC via the Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. As it was just released, many players who anticipated the game visited its official website to download it. But instead of seeing the game’s home page, they were met with the offensive message that the hacker put up.
Before the website was hacked, it usually featured colorful advertisements, information, and the actual download links for Infinity Nikki. Details on how to claim the launch rewards that were released by developer Infold Games were also on the website as well.
However, instead of all of that, the site temporarily featured a blank white screen with the message: “Kill yourself! Or just better try Genshin Impact PRIVATE SERVER!” A QR code was even included in this offensive message.
Users who have encountered the message posted it on social media, as well as on Infinity Nikki’s Reddit page.
If you are wondering why Genshin Impact was referenced in the message, it might be because of the vague comparisons between the two games. Vague meaning that both are open world gacha games with colorful anime art styles. Other than that, the differences between the two are much more numerous.
Despite what happened, Infinity Nikki’s official launch is still a success as players are sharing great reviews about their experience in the game and it even did well with critics too.
